I’m an expecting parent. What Childbirth & Parenting classes do you offer and when should I register for them?
Our Childbirth & Parenting classes include:

- Infant Care Basics
- Breastfeeding Basics
- Comfort Measures in Labor
We recommend registering for our Childbirth & Parenting classes your fourth or fifth month of pregnancy so you can complete the classes by your eighth month.

Are discounts available?
Tuality Health Plan Services members may use their discount code during the online registration process.
CareOregon, and Providence Health Plans may be eligible to receive discounted fees for selected classes by presenting their insurance cards as proof of coverage, please register by phone at 503-681-1700.
Our employees may receive a discount on select classes, please register by phone at 503-681-1700. For information about scholarships and financial assistance, please call us at 503-681-1700.
What if I’m having trouble registering online?
Please call us at 503-681-1700 and we will be happy to complete your registration over the phone.
How do I know if I’m registered for my class?
With sufficient advanced registration notice, we will send you a confirmation letter. Please feel free to call 503-681-1700 at any time for a verbal confirmation.
What happens if the class is already full or gets canceled?
We will refund your payment.
How do I cancel or reschedule a class?
Please call our health education office at 503-681-1700 to cancel or reschedule your class.
Will registration fees be refunded if I need to cancel?
If you cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice, you will be provided a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours but before the start of the class, you will receive a partial refund.
Why would a class be canceled?
If there are not enough reservations to meet our enrollment requirements, the class will be canceled and you will be notified.
What about inclement weather?
If the Hillsboro School District closes due to bad weather, we will cancel our daytime classes. If Portland Community College cancels evening classes, we’ll cancel our evening classes. Watch local media reports for these local cancellations. You may confirm weather-related class cancellations by calling 503-681-1700, option 6.
What are the COVID safety protocols for in-person classes?
Masking, social distancing and symptom screenings are required of all class participants. Please do not come to class if you have symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the class date or have been around someone with COVID 19 in the past 14 days. If you are exhibiting symptoms, have a fever or refuse to follow masking and distancing guidelines, you will be asked to leave.
How do you protect my privacy?
Your information is confidential. OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center does not share your information with any other individual or organization.
