COVID-19 Health Alert

OHSU Tuality Healthcare is well-prepared to care for patients arriving with respiratory illnesses and efforts are underway to ensure ongoing preparedness for COVID-19.

Tuality is working with our local, state and federal resources to provide coordinated care during the crisis. We’ve created a COVID-19 Updates web page to share new information when it becomes available.

The following are additional updates and recommendations based on guidance from state and local public health officials and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

• CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. (April 3)
• Gov. Kate Brown announced a new Executive Order to stay at home unless absolutely necessary, to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. (March 23)
• Avoid close contact: Put 6 feet of distance between yourself and other people. Read how COVID spreads. »
• Individuals who believe they may have been exposed to a confirmed case should contact their county health department directly.
• Individuals who have mild flu-like symptoms should not go to the emergency department, urgent care or outpatient clinics. Rather, they should remain home, and call their primary care clinician.
• Testing for COVID-19 is not widely available and requires approval from public health officials. Most individuals do not require testing. Read how to determine appropriate categories for testing. This information is updated and kept current based upon the evolving situation.
