BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Samuel Crane is a family doctor with a special focus on fertility, women’s midlife care and women’s health. His practice is infused with a passion for underserved medicine and human rights.
Dr. Crane was born and raised in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, and earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Tulane University School of Public Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his time in public health, he observed clinicians in action as they treated and educated patients and community members. Inspired, he decided to change the course of his career and pursue a medical degree. He studied at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine, and found his way to the Pacific Northwest through his residency at OHSU. He then furthered his expertise in obstetrics with a fellowship at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
After graduate school, Dr. Crane joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a water and sanitation volunteer in El Salvador. He trekked through the jungles and mountains of Chiapas, Mexico, with traditional healers; worked on infectious disease outbreaks and surveillance as a Florida Department of Health epidemiologist, and trained migrant farm workers to be promoteres de salud (health promoters) on the edge of the Florida EvergladesWhen not in the clinic, Dr. Crane enjoys all the outdoors has to offer – from snowboarding to surfing and everything in between.
