Steve Callaway, Mayor of Hillsboro, presented Tuality Healthcare with an official proclamation in honor of the organization’s 100th anniversary during the Hillsboro City Council meeting on April 17.

The proclamation honored Tuality’s longstanding service to the community, its partnership with Oregon Health & Science University to bring new medical specialties to Hillsboro and its leadership.

“We look forward to another 100 years and have a lot of exciting things coming,” said Lori James-Nielsen, Tuality Healthcare President, during the presentation.  “We continue to grow so that we continue to serve the community the best we can.”

Tuality Healthcare started in 1918 as a small, six-bed care home, then named Jones Hospital for its founder Minnie Jones Coy, intended to treat the sick and provide a safe place for mothers to give birth.  Throughout the years, it has grown to its present size with 215 licensed beds, 11 outpatient clinics, and a number of new and growing practices including neurosurgery, bariatrics, primary care, orthopedic surgery and maternal fetal medicine.
