TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY

Mike has found that patients get the best results when they understand what their impairments are and why they are in pain. He places emphasis on educating each patient in simplified terminology so that his patients know how to facilitate healing themselves during and after PT. Mike utilizes his extensive background in manual therapy as well as individualized exercise programs tailored for each patient. Mike focuses treatments on each of his patient’s goals in order for them to return to whatever sport, activity, or prior level that they aspire to participate in.

Mike grew up in Beaverton and after graduating from the University of Oregon moved to San Diego where he attended Physical Therapy school with an emphasis on orthopedics and manual therapy. He practiced for three years in an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic in North County San Diego. He and his wife then worked as travel PTs, working in San Francisco, San Antonio, and Chicago gaining experience in geriatrics, neurology, cardiovascular, and sub-acute rehab. Mike is thrilled to be pack in Portland where he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, golfing, cycling, hiking, surfing, basketball, soccer, and just about any other outdoor activity.
