BIOGRAPHY
Nathan Morris is a certified nurse-midwife and clinical faculty member with the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing who practices at Hillsboro Medical Center.
They provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal care, labor and birth support, postpartum care and gynecologic services.
Nathan’s path to midwifery began at the bedside as a labor and delivery nurse, where they developed a deep appreciation for the trust patients place in their care team during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of their lives. With more than a decade of experience in maternal and newborn care, Nathan brings both clinical expertise and a strong sense of presence to their work with patients and families.
Their approach to care is rooted in compassion, curiosity and respect for each patient’s unique story. Nathan believes that the most meaningful care happens when patients feel heard, informed, and empowered to make decisions about their bodies and their births. They are especially passionate about trauma-informed care and creating inclusive clinical environments, including for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, where all patients can feel safe, respected, and supported.
As a clinical faculty member, Nathan also finds deep fulfillment in teaching and mentoring nursing and midwifery students. They enjoy helping learners develop not only strong clinical skills, but also the empathy and attentiveness that define excellent clinicians.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with their spouse, two children, and their two dogs exploring Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. They enjoy discovering neighborhood coffee shops, visiting local yarn and craft stores, and finding new parks and places to explore with their family.
