BIOGRAPHY
Autonomy with decision making is very important caring for people. My practice of medicine has a focus on patient education such that people can make the care decision that is balanced for their autonomy. Honesty and understanding are values I prioritize working with my patients to help restore function and solve disease. I enjoy General Surgery as it offers approaches to help people regain function and solve disease challenges and continues to develop with new techniques.
I practice General Surgery with a focus on Robotic Assisted techniques while offering a range of techniques to meet patient needs and safety. Common elective problems I manage include hernia repairs and gallbladder removal and I help people with acute problems such as appendicitis and other General Surgery urgent issues. I also offer colonoscopy for the prevention of colon cancer and diagnosis of diseases of the colon.
I met my spouse when we were in college at Portland State University and we have two adult children. Our first-born child is a lawyer for the Air Force while our second child is earning a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the University of Texas, Austin. I enjoy typical Oregonian outdoor activities such as hiking, running and cycling as well as fly fishing.
