Hillsboro Medical Center is proud to announce that our second Catheterization Laboratory opened on December 16, 2025.

This recently opened Catheterization Laboratory features a new, state-of-the-art Phillips Azurion Image Guided Therapy System.

The Phillips Azurion Image Guided Therapy System uses X-ray technology to show internal bodily functions working in real time.

With this advanced new system, Hillsboro Medical Center can perform even more complex and minimally invasive procedures, such as radioembolizations for liver cancer patients, prostate artery embolizations and limb preservation surgeries.

“Hillsboro Medical Center’s newly opened Cath Lab enables us to significantly expand our operations and services,” notes Catheterization Lab Leader Evamarie Mace. “We will be able to grow our cardiovascular, vascular and interventional radiology services to better care for our community.”

Our second Catheterization Lab can also be utilized in emergent situations to place Impella devices in patients experiencing cardiogenic shock to help stabilize them. This allows Hillsboro Medical Center to provide patients with more timely access to life-saving care.

“Hillsboro Medical Center is proud to have our second Catheterization Lab now open,” says President and CEO of Hillsboro Medical Center Lori James-Nielsen. “It is a part of our ongoing commitment to expand our services and deliver patients exceptional, high-level care right here in our own community.”
