To commemorate the opening of their new Neurosurgery Clinic, OHSU and Tuality Healthcare leadership, neurosurgeons and neurosurgery department faculty were joined by dignitaries from the City of Hillsboro, including Councilor Darell Lumaco, M.D., and members of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting to officially welcome the clinic to the Tuality 7th Avenue Medical Plaza.

The new clinic, located at 333 SE 7th Avenue, Suite 4350 in Hillsboro, provides a more centralized location for neurosurgery patients, improved access to care, and close proximity to surgical suites and other medical specialties.

“We are able to provide patient-centered, multidisciplinary care,” said Jeremy Ciporen, M.D., OHSU Tuality Healthcare neurosurgeon.  “For example, this allows us to be a one stop shop for cancer patients because we have a team-based approach to care with our radiation oncology clinic—we meet with the patient together and follow-up on their care as a team.”

“We’ve reached a point where we’re really growing and doing things we’ve never done before,” said Fred Williams, M.D., OHSU Tuality Healthcare neurosurgeon.  “And the special thing about it is that we’re still providing neighborly care—our nursing staff takes care of our patients like they’re their neighbors because they are.”

“This clinic is part of our vision to provide rapid access to the best neurosurgery in the world to our patients in Oregon, not just in Hillsboro and western Washington County, but the entire western part of the state,” said Nathan Selden, M.D., Ph.D., Campagna Professor and Chair of OHSU Department of Neurological Surgery.  “All of the resources we have on our Marquam Hill campus and the resources they have in our Hillsboro clinic are one in the same.”

“Tuality has a 100 year history of providing excellent medical care here in Hillsboro and Washington County,” said Darell Lumaco, M.D., Hillsboro City Councilor.  “We look forward to new programs as the partnership with OHSU continues to grow.”

The OHSU Tuality Healthcare Neurosurgery Clinic is a regional referral center for neurological care with the latest surgical technology and instrumentation. Patients served by the clinic also benefit from Tuality’s partnership with OHSU Healthcare neurosurgeons on the Marquam Hill campus in Portland for some of the most complex neurovascular, functional, and pediatric neurosurgical care.
