Pediatric Care

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital provides specialty care for children in Hillsboro and Western Washington County. We offer:

Pediatric outpatient surgery

OHSU Doernbecher otolaryngologists (head and neck) and pediatric surgeons offer outpatient surgery at Hillsboro Medical Center.

Conditions we treat

  • Chronic ear infections: A child’s with bacteria or a virus trapped inside the eardrum causing pain and swelling.
  • Obstructive sleep apnea: The soft tissue at the back of a child’s throat blocks the upper airway. This cuts off oxygen for a few seconds until the child wakes up and breathes normally.
  • Congenital neck masses: A child has a non-cancerous neck mass that may cause problems with eating, drinking or breathing.
  • Chronic sinusitis: A child has an infection or swelling in the sinuses.
  • Hemangiomas: A condition where a bright red rubbery bump appears at birth.
  • Vascular birthmarks: A cluster of blood vessels that vary in color and size.
  • Hernias: An internal organ or tissue pushes up through the wall of muscle. Most hernias are between the chest and the hips.
